Choose your stone

Made for serving

A stone board is a presentation piece. It stays cool, which keeps butter, pastry dough and cheese at their best, and it turns charcuterie, dessert or a holiday spread into a centerpiece.

Can you cut on it?

You can, but we don’t recommend it. Stone is harder than knife steel, so it dulls blades quickly, and knives can leave fine scratches in the stone, especially marble. Do your chopping on wood and bring the stone to the table.

Care

Hand wash with mild soap. Wipe lemon and wine off marble quickly. Wax natural stone every month or two with Quarry Wax, and oil soapstone when it looks lighter. Quartz and porcelain never need it.

The journey

From the quarry to your kitchen

Every board starts as raw stone in the ground. Follow one stone from the quarry to your table.

    Sawn into slabs

    Quarried at the source

Stone is cut from the ground in blocks weighing up to 20 tons, then sawn into slabs about 3 cm thick. We pick the slab with the best pattern for your board.

    Waterjet · Bridge saw

Each board is traced out of the slab on a waterjet, the same machine that cuts our countertops. Edges are profiled on the CNC and polished by hand.

Quarried and made on five continents

Our natural stone comes from quarries in Brazil, India, Italy, Spain and beyond. Our engineered quartz is made in factories from Minnesota to Vietnam. Pick a country to shop its stones.

Origins come from each stone's name and maker. Where the exact quarry is not documented, we show its most likely source. Ask us for the origin of a specific slab.
